Wednesday – August 17th, 2022 —> +19˚C / +66˚F & raining on Scott Catteral’s Birthday – 🙂 –

I just tried to post this on /dreams/ and the blog disappeared?

= = = = =

In a place where the sounds of youthful joy and enthusiasm abounded

I found several young people digging alongside an old abandoned road

Most of them gave up and went away to enjoy themselves

One guy kept at it and discovered a new spot where there were a lot of of

close -together hexagonal shaped flat stones with medium blue paint on

bas relief designs that had a Celtic flavor to them

beneath the stones { which were probably  two feet in diameter each }

there were lots of cassette tapes in pretty good condition

the last stone this guy raised had a garden hand tool – claws

the claws gave him the creeps – he hoped nobody used that tool to murder anybody – { else why would they bury it like this? }

Next

I was looking through an abandoned house near where I’d been assigned to live in a second floor apartment in a masonry building with my family

My family included Cathi and a couple other friends { I think we were all in our twenties }

exploring the abandoned house I found a notebook with details of the life and likes of a young celebrity – someone like Emma Watson?

I hoped that whoever had written down all those details wasn’t stalking the young actress – and decided to take the notebook and disguise it behind a notebook of my own in case the possible stalker was watching the abandoned house.

I went back to my apartment { apartment # 204 – with no numbers on the white washed doors } and thought I should bring that notebook to the police – but weighed that against the possibility that the police might believe that I was the stalker,

Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 –

– Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 —> -3˚C / +27˚F —> partly cloudy & ‘hopeful’ @ 8:01 am in Atlantic Canada on my Aunt Claudia’s Birthday —> which she shares with Janis Ian and I believe it’s Jenny Dines’ birthday too – & the Canadian Dollar is up a penny against the US dollar – valued at 71.3 cents U$ at 8:00 am –

- Sunrise @ 7:10 am -

– Sunrise @ 7:10 am here in our neck of the woods – Snow is melting and instead of the usual big snow storm on Cathi’s birthday, last Friday – we got a lot of rain. But – The weather people assure us that we might get something like 8 to 10 inches of snow this coming Friday to make up for that – Nice of them to make sure that nobody calls the love of my life a liar when she says there’s always a significant snow storm right around her birthday –

— Opened my eyes at 6:49 am this morning – and noticed that it was already getting light enough to look around outside – which gives us a bit of hope that Spring might actually find us this year —

— I couldn’t stomach any more news about the latest b.s. on the news about d.j. frump seizing shipments of protective equipment paid for by Canadian Health Officials and trying to keep it for himself as part of his maneuvering for re-election down south in the smoke and delusions of grandeur that appear to be rampant —> and went to netflix to binge on the second season of the newest version of “Lost In Space” and then dreamed an extension of the theme that earthlings are racing to escape the planet they poisoned by allowing the greedy to get away with their fracking and destroying rain forests and wrecking pristine prairie lands to dig up shale oil in what a lot of people are calling ‘Tar Sands’ – Gack.

— But anyway, thinking about the struggle between ‘tree huggers’ and psychopathic, narcissistic, power tripping, ‘beedy grastards’ left me feeling sick before I managed to fall asleep and the promise of a new sunrise made me feel like there just might be hope for the human race after all…

— let me go take a couple pills that might upset my stomach without affecting my state of mind, and chill as far away from the television news channels as I can get –

— My intuition says we will get through this nonsense as long as we don’t believe a word the people in power are spitting at us.

Weekend – Catching Up On Groundhog Day?

Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 – dark & no longer snowing @ 11:18 pm in Atlantic Canada – Lisa and Ricky’s Birthday – and Cousin Lynn’s Birthday – and Angie {Kaylie’s Mom’}s birthday too? —

"Mind The Cat"

– “Mind The Cat” – Thursday Evening around 9 o’clock – I liked what I saw in the viewfinder – but 🙁 our wild and crazy orange cat is playing “Maireh-Raereh” and purring his brains out in the next world. –

— “Always something there to remind me -” I dreamed about the cat – and somebody’s dog – both animals came with us to some kind of rock and roll music festival in Vermont? We stayed at what used to be our grandparents’ motel and the house had been converted into a castle-like many floored stone building. The dog – a smallish character with brown and white fur and a tail that stood up and curled back around itself – went exploring and scared his owners who were afraid the territory was too unfamiliar and the aging puppy might not be able to find his way back to where they were staying – I thought I still knew the neighbourhood well enough so I’d be able to find him fairly easily – And then our 25 pound orange cat went exploring the top floor of the castle that had replaced our grandparent’s rambling old farmhouse with low ceilings lots of quirks – and when I got up to the top floor ( I mean it had to be something like 9 floors up, at least – there were top of the line gorgeous old world hotel rooms with their doors open like they wanted to show them off to the world – and a huge and heavy looking Brass and gold merry go round in a big middle room in the center of the top (inside) floor of the castle and farther back there was another big heavy brass statue that looked like huge horses charging up out of the ground, pulling a huge chariot behind it, and this moved back and forth in another gigantic room, and I couldn’t see any tracks. It just moved – there was another huge room on that floor, between the huge Merry-go-round and the huge chariot thing – Where a kids’ sized set of railroad cars, including the engine and the caboose – rode around in circles – again with invisible tracks – and after I’d gawked at the chariot in the back I was sure the cat was having fun riding around in the kids’ railroad engine, maybe even wearing an engineer’s hat and leaning through an open window, ready to pull the train’s horn 🙂

— It’s been a weird week – My favourite spouse is dealing with idiot supervisors who don’t understand her job and who expect her to use short cuts to get very expensive contracts written for the government of Canada’s clients who are looking for bids on important projects – and the idiot task-master doesn’t realize that what he’s telling the clients is against the law and could destroy the department he’ working for – Sounds like what Ronny Ray-gun wanted to do to the Post Office when I worked for them in the states. Grrrrr – but anyway, I’ve been feeling random emotional draining ‘attacks’ like something is trying to convince me that it’s useless to want things like that to get better – idiotic to expect the people on this planet to actually live by the golden rules they brow beat us with when I was growing up – it’s like the evil ‘powers that thought they be’ wanted everybody under their imagined control to live by the rules so they’d have an unfair advantage when they broke all those rules of good conduct and all that.

Laerry guarding the road.

– One of my In-Game builder characters posing by the road that leads through a mountain pass to another game area –

— On my game developing front – the above character used to have blond hair and look a lot more human – and really looked like like a California surfer dude – I made him look more like an Elf or Half-Elf and gave him red hair. Also ‘dyed’ his shirt sleeves a medium to dark-ish blue after I took this screen shot.

"Light Snow Falling"

– “Light Snow Falling” @ 3:22 pm this afternoon as we brushed the snow off the van and got ready to go get some stuff we couldn’t do without. –

— A ‘quick trip’ to pick up a few things we’d run out of became a nerve-wracking “maybe this wasn’t such a good idea” adventure when my favourite spouse gritted her teeth and gripped the steering wheel very tightly while quite a few people who’ve lived here most of their lives drove like speed limits, stop signs and yield signs were all ‘somebody else’s problems’ – Um – We survived , I think….

Sunday, August 19th, 2018 —> Earthquake Map of the Last 24 Hours?

Sunday, August 19th, 2018 —> +23˚C / +73˚F – cloudy with some sunshine getting trough in Atlantic Canada at 2:07 pm Atlantic Time —> Today is my old neighbour, Bill Clinton’s Birthday – yes, THAT Bill Clinton —

map

Not the most colourful map I’ve seen lately, but this is the USGS map of earthquakes over 2.5 magnitude in the past 24 hours… I think…

— The red dot in Indonesia is the one I’m most worried about – It’s listed as a 6.9 magnitude quake and it’s the third quake within 20 hours – & one or two days ago there was a 6.0 quake in South or Central America. I’m trying to multitask right now – so if I stop and look it up I might not get any of my many projects on today’s ‘to do’ list accomplished. Maybe later I’ll come back here and edit that information in… it is pertinent. I’m trying to remember which student of Earth Changes told us that the best information he had was that a chain of Earthquakes at 6.0 and greater would begin in Japan and work around counter-clockwise all the way around the ‘ring of fire’ and when that chain of earthquakes reached San Francisco, that would be the ‘Big One’ everybody’s been dreading, predicting and dreaming about for the past sixty years or so. {  “Eeep!”  }

— Um, I gotta go, but I’ll come back and finish this a.s.a.p. —

Monday, January 15th, 2018 – Brrrrr –

Monday, January 15th, 2018 —> -20˚C / -4˚F {{ -27˚C / -21˚F Windchill }} & Dark and Very Cold @ 7:00 am in Atlantic Canada —> On Jenny Leigh’s Birthday 🙂 —

Snow Squall last Tuesday.

– This was last Tuesday – Most of our snow melted over the weekend – then the hard freeze came in and Brrrrrrr! –

—  Eeep! It just took me four tries to get the above photo in here –

— It’s +4˚C /+40˚F in Whitehorse NWT right now. Only New Orleans is warmer than that in the continental US, according to the weather network.

— Schnarr —

— But, today is a cutey named Jenny Leigh’s birfday. She can’t be 21 years old, can she? nah – impossible.

— I dreamed I was trying to explain parallel worlds to somebody in French. – after walking around a section of a building that in one parallel dream world was a restaurant, but in the world I was in during that dream, was surrounded by solid wood paneling, and somebody told me that inside that place, in that dimension – it was a place to go and get stuff you need, and not any kind of store. Um, sounds like a free store in the ‘here-after’ ?

Monday, March27th, 2017 – Expecting Snow and Snow Jobs

Monday, March 27th, 2017  —> -3˚C / +27˚F & it’s just beginning to snow in our little corner of Atlantic Canada @ 12:52 pm —

Trumpadelphia

– “Trumpadelphia” is the capital of the Trumpian Empire 😉 – The area is a wasteland – No, I wasn’t quite bored to death … –

— I can’t exactly call the above cropped screenshot from an old copy of Civilization IV —> “Inspired” —> { shrug } I could have messed with the ‘exposure’ to brighten it up a bit, but a place called ‘Trumpadephia’ probably should be a dark wasteland, don’t-cha think?

— Weird dreams – a gay couple was trying to tell a guy and his ‘gal’ to “tone it down” in public, one of them smacked his lips in disgust and tried to move the heterosexual guy’s hand up to the small of the woman’s back. Upon waking up, I thought the gay guys might have a point —> “You don’t want to see my boy friend and me groping each other in public, why should we have to endure watching you two ‘breeders’ do that in our faces?”

— Shrug — I didn’t get enough sleep — I’m in the twilight zone here —> Which might explain the following :

Agustus Caeser as Trump

– This cartoon image is “Augustus Caeser” from Civilization IV – Which might be what DJT wants to see when he looks in the mirror? – In all Canadian fairness – I never met the guy, so I don’t have a perfect grasp on what he’s like when not on camera – but his on screen persona doesn’t exactly inspire admiration for his compassion and humanity –

— And I believe the computer ‘game’ Civilization – in all its incarnations – is a propaganda tool whose mission is to convince the unwary that every other nation in this world is psychotic and wants to torture and kill you and do horrible things to your spouses and children. —> The real enemy is not hiding under your bed, or wearing protection from desert sun and sandstorms, it’s in plain sight —> Wearing General’s brass with ‘Scrambled Eggs’ on their hats —> Doing everything they can imagine to get you to surrender every little bit of your power to them.

— Sigh —, Not looking forward to 5 to ten centimeters of new white schnarr to shovel — { 2 to 4 inches? } Grumble grumble —

Sunday, March 26th, 2017 – Nice Day To Walk The Dog

Sunday, March 26th, 2017  —> +3˚C / +37˚F —> Sunny and bright @ 6:37 pm in Atlantic Canada-

View from the Cul De Sac.

– This is the view looking back down our street from the ‘turn-around’ end of the Cul de Sac – Taken at 6:38 pm and not enhanced at all –

— Our dog was hoping against hope when I reached for my jacket and we got to take a walk up and down the street while the sun was still shining for a change. There were young humans to wag his tail at and slightly older humans to go say hello to. Of course he had to sniff every square millimeter up and down the street and stick his nose into several snow banks to try to figure out what scent they might be hiding. He ‘bonded’ with several driveways, rolled around in the snow and ice – and stared down his doggy girl-friend’s driveway with only a slight whimper when she didn’t show –

Snowmobile trail

– Snowmobile trail – with nearly broken trees forming an arch overhead. The trail is supposed to go all the way to a ‘smart centre’ shopping centre – but the one time in the summer that we went less than a hundred yards up the trail we found the way blocked by six inch deep or deeper puddles wider than the trail up there. –

— We did have a little bit of excitement – two snow-mobiles came revving and zooming out of the woods where there is a trail – Jassper didn’t know whether to wag his tail or growl and prepare to try to chase them – but they turned into driveways long before they came anywhere near us.

cul de sac in winter

-This is the cul-de-sac/turn-around – which might have too much snow for most ‘turn around’ events, unless you’re driving a small car or riding something with two or three wheels. –

— And he wanted to keep walking, go explore territory we haven’t looked at or sniffed yet – but I sent him an image of something to eat and he decided to head for home and whatever yummies he figured he earned by taking me for a walk. 🙂

— On the weird dream front – Yup, I had another one – I dreamed I was a senior citizen who was contacted by an investigative reporter. Then I was the reporter who was digging up information about a conspiracy involving virtually every bank and elected official on the municipal, county, state & federal levels to fleece senior citizens of their savings. The US Social Security Department was a major player that was in on this. “Free” bank accounts for seniors suddenly had wildly inflating fees for everything, including on-line balance checking – which had suddenly started costing one dollar for each on-line balance inquiry – then not just one dollar per inquiry by one dollar per account per inquiry — if the senior had three accounts- like maybe savings, checking and possibly a ‘CD’ or long term/high interest account – one inquiry to make sure those accounts hadn’t been hacked or emptied by criminals would cost three dollars for ten seconds of connection. – Seniors who complained became targeted by agencies that routinely found them incompetent and hustled them into locked-down nursing homes where all the food they ate was laced with drugs that quickly destroyed their short and long term memories. The seniors’ assets were then seized by the government to cover the cost of supporting them in their rapidly deteriorating vegetative state. The senior citizen I had interviewed registered a complaint with the police department and was arrested and ‘hauled’ in for questioning. I gave him a hacked smart phone so we could hear and record every word as a smirking detective walked into the locked interrogation room and threw down a pad of paper and a pencil, “We get people like you coming in here all the time with these wild tales, I tell you what, I want you to sit there and write down everything you remember about today, in order. And I want you to begin by writing, ‘As I stepped up to the plate this morning I knew I could hit one out of the park.’ The senior citizen gasped, “But today is January, nobody plays baseball in January.” —> “Do I look like I give a [ bleep ]? Now we can do this the hard way or you can do exactly as you’re told: Start writing, ‘This morning as I stepped up to the plate, I was sure I could hit one out of the park!” —> That’s where I woke up.

Wednesday, March 22, 2017 – Snowy Anniversary

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017 —> -5˚C / +22˚F & Clear @ 7:45 am —> -4˚C / +24˚F & Snowing @ 7:50 am in Atlantic Canada —> my & Cathi’s 15th Anniversary 🙂 & Cousin Debi Borden-Miller’s Birthday 🙂 —

Snow streaks.

– Ten minutes to 8 am – Snow streaks barely visible in this photograph as the precipitation was just beginning here on the North Side – two minutes after somebody on the radio said it was snowing on the south side, but clear on the north side of Fredericton. 🙂 –

— After a couple days of warming temperatures { Yesterday reached +10˚C / +50˚F } today’s forecast is for snow, possibly mixing with rain and ice pellets, then turning to all snow again as the temperature drops – ‘they’ expect we might get 5 to 10 centimeters/2 to 4 inches of snow and significant wind blowing it all around. There is a blizzard warning north and east of here. Overnight they expect wind chills of -22˚C / -8˚F —> { ‘Brrrrrrr’ }

— Today Cathi’s and my anniversary. We’ve been an item for fifteen years. 🙂 & as hinted above it is coincidentally my cousin, Debi’s Birthday. 🙂

— We’ve been battling colds/allergies/some kind of bacterial or ‘other’ bug attacks during the last couple months. 🙁

— Yesterday was a morning of wild & crazy dreams { I’ll probably add them below } But I think I need to pop something a bit more positive in here right now:

Deer viewed through plastic.

– Our human eyes adjust through this more easily than the camera captures it – There are two deer about twelve to fourteen feet away from this window on the hill out there –

— We have plastic insulating our porch windows – & in Cathi’s ‘Zen Corner’ here we have a lot of plants that spend their summers outside and winters inside cheering us up with green in the corner where we hung a momento from our glass blowing classes when we lived in Arnprior. I almost thought this photo wasn’t quite good enough to post here, but I liked the photo I want to add below – which is a bit fuzzy, and the reason it is fuzzy is I had to shoot it through the plastic in a spot that looked fairly clear but turned out not to be as clear as I thought. These deer are a bit more jumpy than some of our ‘regulars’ and I did not have a lot of time to set up a better shot, could not go outside and expect them not to run away-

Deer having breakfast in early morning sunshine/

– Just after daybreak/sunrise on March 10th – I had been worried because we hadn’t seen any deer coming around for a while, but here these two were 🙂 – & Yeah, sorry it’s a bit fuzzy, I had to shoot through plastic that wasn’t as clear as I thought it was –

— & Re: Yesterday’s weird dreams – I looked in a mirror and saw a shorter man with a rounder head than me, blond hair and a slightly darker blond beard looking back at me. The shock did not wake me up. I moved back and watched him get ready for bed in a university dorm room ( a private room, as he looked older than most undergraduates – I thought he might be a post grad student with a stipend and monitor duties in one of the dorms. ) Just before he was able to climb into bed he got an emergency call from his sister – she and her boyfriend were at the local hospital’s emergency room – her boyfriend’s father had a heart attack and she’d just watched her boyfriend’s car being towed away. So the Grad Student got dressed, fired up his ten year old pickup truck – and went to the rescue. At the hospital the boyfriend was distraught and had written down his license plate number, the car’s make, model & year – etc. and asked the grad student’s sister to go to the police department – report the car stolen and see if she could get it back. — At the darkened police station the sister asked her brother to stay close but thought she might have better luck on her own. She went to the station’s door, it was locked, there was a sign over a button and a speaker that said, “Push Button After Hours”. She pushed the button. A scratchy voice asked if this was an emergency. She replied that her boyfriend’s father had a heart attack they’d gone to the hospital and his car disappeared. The authoritative scratchy voice asked if the car had been left running. She replied, “No – and I had the presence of mind to make sure we had the keys and the doors were all locked.” She then volunteered the make, model, year, colour and license plate number. The unseen police officer cleared his throat and said, ‘- wait a second -‘ – and came back a couple minutes later, “That vehicle was towed away for having parked in a spot clearly marked “Reserved for Emergency Room Physicians only, all other will be towed at owner’s expense – To get the vehicle back you need to pay a one hundred dollar ticket and then go to the impound yard with the receipt where you’ll have to pay the towing fee which is usually at least a hundred and fifty dollars.” – She blurted out, “I don’t have that kind of money -” The police voice responded, “We can’t process it now anyway, you’ll have to come back during normal business hours. – And by the way, if you came in that pickup out there, it is parked in a clearly marked ‘no parking’ spot and has had its license plate photographed, you will be receiving a ticket in the mail and will have to pay another fifty dollars for that.” — The sister returned to the pickup, told the grad student what the voice had told her. The grad student got out of his truck, took several photos with his cell phone camera to prove that there was no, “No Parking” sign anywhere in sight and growled toward the station, “I will fight this.” — They went back to the hospital – The boyfriend met them at the door. He said his father was in emergency surgery and he had been told that due to insurance and security issues he could not wait in the waiting room at that time of night and should go home, they had his cell phone number ans could call him when the surgery was over. The grad student drove them to a motel where he used his credit card to get them a room for the night and said he had to get some rest – there was an important test in the morning – —> Back at the dorm – he discovered a car with a “Marine Corps” bumper sticker in his assigned parking place, had to park in a “Visitors Only!” Parking space, wrote a note explaining who he was and that somebody had parked in his space and taped the note in his window. — After he opened his room’s door and turned his light on an angry voice bellowed, “Shut off the f***ing light.” The student responded, “Get the eff out of my bed.” A muscular guy with a marine corps tattoo sat up in bed, “You get the couch, roomy, I get the bed.” The student responded, “Look around – there is no couch, this is my room, get the hell out,” he looked at his digital clock and it said 4:44 am, “How the hell did you get in here anyway?” — “I had to get an effing security guard to let me in – we couldn’t find the guy who’s supposed be here to deal with shit like this-” —> “I’m that guy, That’s why this is the only single bed room in the building, Now get the hell out of here-” The marine stood up, was at least six inches taller than the grad student and his chest and arms were twice as wide as the grad student – “You want to fight about this, asshole?” — This was interrupted by the marine’s alarm clock going off at 4:45 am. The marine snapped into action, jumped out of bed, ripped the blankets off, pulled the sheets into a very tight ‘bounce a quarter off it’ configuration, folded the blankets up and placed them in a precisely measured spot a the foot of the bed, pulled on his pants and grabbed his toothbrush, “Where’s the effing bathroom?” —> “Out in the hall, second door on the right, the one with the sign that says, “Bathroom” and had the blue and white picture of a stick figure wearing pants.” —> The Marine glared at the grad student, pointed to the bed, said, “Don’t even effing think about touching that effing rack,” and stormed out of the room. —> The grad student locked the door, pulled a chain across and locked a dead bolt in place besides the regular lock.  – He dove onto the bed and passed out. —> Seconds later, somebody tried the door. That somebody then pounded on the door, loud enough to wake up half the people on that floor of the dorm, “You open this effing door – Marine!” —> The grad student gave the door the finger. There were two crashes, on the second crash the door was kicked off its hinges. A huge drill Sargent bellowed,  “Snap to attention, Marine – you know better than to lock me out!” The grad student looked up at the Sargent, “Do I look like a marine?” —> The Sargent grabbed the grad student by the hair on his head and yanked him out of bed, “You will speak only when spoken to! – You will address me as “Sir! Yes Sir,”! You will stand at attention, and you better know you are in a world of shit, marine!” —> “I am not a marine, you are in the wrong room!” The Sargent kicked the grad student in the ribs, punched him in the belly – knocked him against a wall, screamed, “You will stand at attention, you will address me as ‘Sir, Yes Sir!’ and you will speak only when spoken to!” — “You are in the wrong room, And you are on candid camera!” the grad student pointed – “Every room in this building has motion activated security cameras since a woman on the second floor was raped in her own room last year. I will press charges!”  — The Sargent glanced at his clipboard, glanced at the number on the door, and was about to scream again when two security officers fought their way to the front of the crowd that had gathered at the door. One of them yelled, “Your marine had the wrong building. He gave you the wrong information,” and held up a piece of paper to prove it. The grad student croaked weakly, “Get his name, rank and serial number and as many witnesses as you can and let them know the Marine Corps will pay for the new door -” *** I then faded out, thought I was the grad student, passing out from internal injuries — and woke up with sore ribs and cramps in my stomach. To be honest, I went to bed with sore ribs on my right side – but I woke up with sore ribs on both sides, the Sargent had kicked the grad student on the left side. —> After Cathi went to work, I went back to bed and had several quick episodes in which I fell in and out of sleep so quickly I hardly felt like I had enough time to fall asleep – but when I ‘woke up’ seconds after ‘falling asleep’ I woke up from having very mundane conversations with odd groups of people in places I didn’t recognize, some inside, some on busy city streets, the last one looked like it was in a cafeteria.

— I often have vivid dreams, even lucid dreams – The one above happened quickly, events flying into one another – like part of it was somebody’s vivid memory – but this was all more vivid than most.

— sigh, That should be more than enough —,

Sunday, February 26th, 2017 – Oscars Tonight? – Something Else Worth Sleeping Through —

Sunday, February 26th, 2017  —> +4˚C / +39˚F @ 9:45 am in partially cloudy Atlantic Canada with the sun winking through every now and then — Aunt Reggie’s Birthday 🙂 —

Jassper in his world.

– Slightly less Blurry, longer shot of Jassper taken Friday at 7:02 am as he was checking toward the corner of our street and Canada Street to see anything worth barking at was coming his way –

— Ten years ago today, on a Monday, I started working for TVCOGECO – as an Assistant Producer of local Video for their ‘public access’ channel. I learned that ‘public Access’ in Canada wasn’t quite what it was like in the USA – as it had been defanged by corporate interests up here – to become more like a place to see fairly professionally produced coverage of local high school football games and Service Club Junior Hockey teams learning how to please crowds by having a couple fist fights during every game they played. — not like the USA where regular citizens became certified after taking courses in producing video for public access channels and then competed for time to show their store front evangelical church’s latest Sunday services and where the law said Cable Companies could not censor anything they received ( But they could air the content of racier programs at something like 3 am – for instance – programs in which certifiable local misanthropes put together hour long ‘interview’ programs as forums to see how many times they could spit out the ‘F’ word in one hour – ) I actually liked and felt good about working for TVCOGECO  – even if their corporate culture had them expecting their employees to work off the clock overtime to produce award winning programmes they didn’t want to pay decent wages for. Corporate Fascism is alive and well in Canada, and was especially evident when Stephen Harper and his Conservative Party were the majority ‘Government’ in power.

— Weird Dreams :

— — — I dreamed I was watching a murder mystery unfold from the point of view of someone who was thinking of doing a television documentary about it. There were possible terrorist undertones in as far as a producer of network serieses hired a guy who had been an anti terrorist operative for most of his career to be their technical advisor and this guy and his script writing daughter came on board and the man was ambushed and murdered explosively in front of a camera crew who were following him around – cameras rolling as he pointed out places that looked like the places his team had taken down terrorists – before he’d retired. I began to suspect he’d taken this advisor position in an attempt to bring down a terrorist cell he hadn’t been able to ‘neutralize’ during his time in the service, and that had obviously backfired – but then I began to suspect that the assassination had been staged and he wasn’t killed in the explosion which had blown up a car with remote control capabilities —

— — This (above) dream flowed into me, working with friends I’d worked with in the Post Office in the USA – I was putting together a documentary on the evolution of the Post Office from Benjamin Franklin’s original vision to what it was evolving into – It felt like my co workers had moved north to Vermont and after a very long day in which I got a lot done, I reported to people I knew from up here in Canada, and the curator of one museum in Ontario was one of them. But then one supervisor from my Post Office days flagged me down and told me that things had changed and they needed me to report to ‘Rhonda’ first thing the next morning and “Of course- you’ll be driving and picking up [ forgot the name of the guy they mentioned, but they acted like they believed that everybody in the world knew who this semi-celebrity type employee of theirs was ] to get him here by 8 am.” —> And, on my way out the door after punching out, I saw and talked to a co-worker from back then, Kay, who told me that none of her old friends were around any more –

— And then I woke up – And here we are – thinking happy thoughts about my Aunt Reggie 🙂 —

— I dreamed something about characters from The Black List – Plus I had an earlier dream in which somebody was confessing to me that he was afraid his wife would be looking for a lover on the side since he was diagnosed with some physical condition that was a medical cause of Erectile Dysfunction – These two dreams were not related. – And were separated by a wake up and visit to the wash room – and the funny thing is – I remember the earlier dream before I woke up and got up and came back and went back to sleep better than the last one I had just before I woke up, got up and stayed up for a while.

— & I shot several photos this morning. The best one might be the one at the top of this article/posting –

Jassper as King of the Mountain.

– Jassper as King of the Mountain? – Another shot from right around 7 am – Slightly out of focus here – Jassper went outside and when I checked to see if he was ready to come back in, I couldn’t find him anywhere –

— One of Jassper’s weird little games is —> He stands at the door looking excited and wishing to go outside – often with a small silver bowl in his mouth – One of the bowls he plays hockey with when he wants to make noise and get your attention – And then – If you open the door he’ll very often walk away and go hang out next to the refrigerator in the kitchen – or sometimes go sit or even lie down inside his crate – The crate is more or less just there as a decoration and to lock him away at dinner time for half an hour or so – or if we have company who might be alarmed by the sight of a six foot, hundred and twenty five dog leaping around three feet off the ground – or if somebody is delivering something. – He rarely gets territorial, it’s usually more like, ‘oh boy – oh boy – I get somebody new to play with’ – but he can still be quite intimidating. —> This morning he went outside – And stayed out longer than usual and didn’t bark at anything or anybody – When I looked through the door without opening it, I couldn’t see him anywhere. There was a moment of sheer panic when I wondered if the snow was hard enough and high enough so he could just casually walk over the fence in one area I hadn’t checked lately —> I made sure I was appropriately dressed and opened the door and there he was – in a corner where the snow had been blown down to look like a valley  surrounded by steep-ish slopes. A couple minutes later he was proudly sitting atop one of those slopes – surveying his kingdom – I held the camera just as steady when I took this photo as when I took the one above it – but this one – with a digital 2 or 3 x telephoto setting – came out a bit on the blurry side. Some detail is lost, but it captures the feeling – I think –

Photo from Pizza Delight's wall.

– This is a print of an old black and white photo taken about 3 Kilometers south of our street here – This large print is a framed blow up of an old photo on one of the walls in the “Pizza Delight” Restaurant over on the corner of St Marys Street and Maple Ave (or Maple Street?) — Shrug — We were there last Wednesday — too late for the buffet but we had a quick couple of small pizza like things to eat – [ I think Cathi had a ‘Donair’ – which is something either created in New Brunswick or Quebec first – there’s an on-going argument here – ] and we ‘escaped’ for less than thirty dollars – I think –

— The cotton mill on the far side of the small river here is still there – We see it and/or go by it every time we head for anything south of where we we live here – which is basically any time we go anywhere – The Lumber Mill is gone – I wanted to say ‘long gone’ but I don’t know how long it’s been gone or how long you have to wait before you can declare anything ‘long gone’. I think there is a bridge in this photo – fuzzy and almost out of sight up near the upper right reaches of the river – There’s a bridge there now, the ‘Bridge Street’ bridge – but I don’t know if it’s the same bridge or even if it’s in the same spot.

South East corner of the Dog Run.

– This looks like a moonlight shot of the south east corner of Jassper’s kingdom / ‘Dog Run’ – I actually took this photo at 10:34 am last Tuesday – & don’t know if I accidentally touched something that altered a setting or what happened – But I like the effect – looks like Jassper’s hang-out under a bright full moon. 🙂 –

—  So that’s two photos that came out better than I thought they would and in this one’s case, better that I thought it was at first glance –

— & Now for something a whole lot more ‘Schnarr’ : —> Flipping past the various Network News Channels today – There’s a lot of “WTF Now?” stuff coming from the White House. Just when I thought it was safe to surf past the news channels – “CNN, New York Times, BBC -” & a couple other reputable News Gathering Organizations were ‘not invited’ to a White House Briefing. “Conservative” News Organizations that aren’t usually invited to these things were invited to this one. The “White House” justified this action, saying it wan an informal thing – { I have no idea what was said in this ‘briefing’ } – But to me this sounds like a slap in the face to the First Amendment – the Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press and all that – part. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up and say, “Hey! What’s the first thing to despotic dictators do when they overthrow a democracy? – Lock up, threaten, and silence their once-free press.”

— I’m still trying really hard to believe that Trump really is the good guy that a lot of people keep telling me they believe he is – But he looks like a bully, he acts like a bully, he pulls people off balance when he shakes their hands – he seems to have no respect for the Constitution he’s sworn to defend – He acts like he believes he should be able to do whatever the F[upp?] he feels like, and he looks like he believe that all the ‘little people’ of the USA should bow down and kiss his [ feet? ] every time he makes a pronouncement that sounds like off the wall insanity to many of us – But he seems to believe we should treat every word he mutters as if it came from the mouth of the one true God of the USA. And immediately adopt all his whims as supreme law of the land – without question.

— One ‘Psychic’ did a reading and said that DJ Trump was a high ranking Inquisitor during the Spanish Inquisition – and probably still believes he should have the right to torture anybody who disagrees with anything he says or believes in. —> You have to be fairly highly evolved to get anywhere with an investigation of reincarnation / past or future lives – If you can’t consciously leave your body – go somewhere verifiable and come back – you won’t be able to prove or disprove reincarnation —> If you CAN leave your body, you can travel in time. You can follow your ‘self’ – your spirit or soul or essence or whatever you feel like calling it – back or ahead in time and see who you were before or will probably be in the future – And if you can do that – you can also go follow anybody else back or ahead in time. —> or you can go back to historic events and see for yourself what happened —> I’m thinking there must be quite a crowd of time traveling ‘Remote Viewers’ checking out the Kennedy assassinations and other controversial bits of real world history —> And what about Parallel world stuff? —> Puts a whole new spin to, “See you on the other side-” doesn’t it?

— Shrug —> Oh, and apparently the White House has been asking construction companies for bids on building the wall to keep Mexicans out of The USA. —> As if that would work? —> Do you think that any really determined ‘bad guys’ who want to sabotage the USA and its government and infrastructure – believe that the only way they can get into this country is to walk across the US-Mexican border? I’m thinking that some real nasty terrorists were born here, never had to be radicalized by any ‘foreign’ religious cults, and might even have gotten themselves ‘elected’ into high offices –

— But then, what do I know? Go do some honest digging on your own and form your own opinions – let me know what you think – You can’t leave comments here, but if you have half a brain and something worth saying, you’ll find a way – Won’t you? —>
