Sunday, April 30th, 2017 – We can see clearly now, the snow is gone —>

Sunday, April 30th, 2017  —>  14˚C / 56˚F  & very clear with bright sunshine @ 2:12 pm Atlantic Time —

No Snow!

– @ about 2:20 pm yesterday, the camera was nearly blinded in bright sunshine, and look – not a hint of snow in the corner where it usually hasn’t all melted until Mothers’ Day –

— We’ve had rain almost every day for the past week, and I think we’re supposed to get more of the same this coming week – So we’ve got lots of Mother Nature’s Free Mulch just waiting to be gathered all over our yard here. Side yard / front yard / back yard – West Yard? Because of the way the house is situated, I’m confused. Cathi thinks this is the front yard, but it’s father down behind the shed from the street we live on, and very backyard-ish from Canada Street. So I think I’ll give up and just decide to call it our West Yard.

- Woodstock, NB - St John River in flood stage -

– Woodstock, New Brunswick – 4:20 pm Atlantic time yesterday – Houlton, Maine is the End of the road / north-eastern most point on US Highway 95. Woodstock, NB is directly East of Houlton, ME, and in another time zone. That’s your geography lesson for the day, you will be tested next Friday 😉 –

— We d rove to Woodstock and back yesterday afternoon. The St John River is usually a lot narrower in Woodstock. The flood almost receded before we got a lot of rain last week. Some of that was snow up north.  South and east of Fredericton, some highways near the river have been closed because they were under water.

Red Skies to the west of Wellington Court.

– Red Skies At Night? – Cathi, with her spiffier cell phone camera got a better shot of this – but this is good enough. –

— 8:30 pm yesterday evening. Jassper and I went for our walk and after he stopped and turned around, I stopped and looked to see what he heard or somehow sensed, and saw this sunset. Like the caption said, Cathi got a better photo of this. But – This is okay for my purposes. 😉

— And, we gotta go get a couple things at the supermarket before its early close time on a Sunday, so I’ll end here –

Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 – I’m Writing & thinking I will need a Francophone to check my story for proper French

Tuesday, April 25th, 2017  —>  +9˚C / +47˚F  —> Sunny & Clear @ 11:45 am Atlantic Time —

Side Yard this morning.

– 6:44 am —> The snow is melting. There used to be at least two feet of snow hiding the ground back there. In recent years it’s been Mothers’ Day before all the snow in our side yard here has melted completely –

— Looking forward to when the yard in the above photo will be very green instead of mottled browns and greys –

Cathi Aza Painting

– “Cathi Aza Painting” – I used one of Photoshop’s ‘artistic’ filters to keep the mood and soften details here – I think this was the brush-dawb filter. –

— I probably should have cropped-out the bright spot that looks like it might have been an orb behind Cathi’s back there – It was more likely a spot where the morning sun bounced off something and hit the cabinet just right.

Perspective on Committee Breakfast.

– I thought it might be a good idea to photograph “The Committee’ at one of their morning breakfasts from a slightly different angle – you can see the plastic we insulate the porch windows with in the winter – which is the cause of the funny streaks in many photos I’ve shot through the back windows –

— This was the first group of deer looking for breakfast this morning (or the first ones I saw, there may have been some really early guys showing up before 6 am) this was right at 6:45 am Atlantic time.

Deer photographed with zoom.

– Zoomed part way in – You can probably get a better look at the deer in this photo –

— My cell phone camera does not have the most ‘user friendly’ zoom function. But the deer were hungry and I was determined.

As close as I could focus on the deer.

– I think this is zoomed in as far as I could go {4x} and this was me exhaling with my elbows against my ribs and standing as stock still as I could –

— The protective Momma type sideways in the front of these guys looks like she’s wondering, “Just what exactly is that weird human doing over there? – Should I worry?”

— And like I hinted in the title of today’s entry – I have been going through a chapter in my 1963 Novel and getting ready to zoom ahead and maybe finish the danged thing before the next century rolls around. Some of the French dialog I tossed in there last autumn has me slightly worried. There may be differences between Good Parisian French and Good Canadian French. I want to be sensitive to everybody’s sensibilities – Now all I have to do is find somebody who won’t feel averse to me asking for his or her help in that.

Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 – Um, It’s the “S” word again –

Saturday, April 22nd, 2017  —> +3˚C / +37˚F  —> with “light rain” falling at 1:33 pm Atlantic Time —

Cathi's Corner in Snow.

– Cathi’s Corner – no fire in the fireplace, Not exactly inviting her to sit on the swing and read or play her guitar – @ 7:27 am this morning, here in Atlantic Canada – The calendar really does read, “April 22, 2017” –

— The forecast first mentioned the ‘S” word several days ago – and then went from, “5 to 10 centimeters” to, “Ooops, we could get as much as 25 centimeters -” That’s like from (a) 2 to 4 inches to more like (b) 10 inches. I didn’t go outside and measure anything. But the world around us here looked “Amazing/Dazzling” in white, but the temperature rose and now it isn’t quite so picturesque.

Fence with Solar Lamp Close up in Snow.

– That’s a solar powered LED lamp hanging on the fence around the dog’s outside inner sanctum. It wasn’t collecting much in the way of solar rays when I shot this photo. –

— At a little after midnight, the dog acted a bit more like, “Hey, I gotta go outside in a big hurry-” than usual, so Cathi let him out. A couple minutes later, he started barking up a storm. Cathi opened the door and was about to say, “Hey, I told you not to bark at anything at this time of -” —> “Holy snarr! What is that? —” And both Cathi and the dog watched something she described as either a large fox or a coyote casually loping across Canada Street. The dog was proud of himself, Cathi said, “I don’t think you want to tangle with that guy, come on in -” And the dog said, “I saved the world again, right? I let you know there was something strange in the neighbourhood – That means I get a treat – right?” And he began dancing to the theme from Ghost Busters but didn’t get up on his hind legs this time, the cold and wet weather bothers his arthritis 🙁 —

Detail - snow on branches.

– Most of the neighbourhood looked something like this – except for the evergreens – and they had their own magical ambience this morning. –

— Once upon a springtime, walking my sister’s Redbone hound dog in Vermont, I stopped and looked out through what looked like an Escher print – an infinite world of very fine branches with very small white and pink blossoms – I didn’t have a decent camera with me at that time and my reaction was, “Oh man, I could never paint that and do it justice-”

Dream-like snow on evergreens.

– This is almost dream like, something that should be a subliminal image from the Nutcracker Suite –

— This is to the left of where the deer show up for breakfast – & Yes, if you could follow the elves and fairies under those branches you probably could find the home of the Good Fairy Princess —

Portal to a better world?

– And this might be a more direct portal to fairy land – It might be a good thing that there weren’t any young and impressionable pre-teen girls here, they might have seen that tunnel and charged off to investigate, and we’d never see them again. I mean – The way things are going in this world – Would you want to stay there, hang out and play and sing and dance with fairies or come back here and listen to the unbelievable b.s. that’s on the news every night and gets a little more unbelievable all the time? –

— Yeah, but when I almost tripped over our own domestic terrorist/orange tabby I had to take his picture and then messed with it in a very basic editing program —>

- Moe -

– Moe – I think I captured his true inner self here. –

— Before I messed with the sliders Moe’s eyes were glowing a near emerald-green colour.

snow laden trees

– Snow Laden Trees – The cat scared me out of my magical thinking and back to ‘reality’? – What???? –

— Yup, I just pinched myself. It really is Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 – We are more than a month into Calendar-Verified Spring-Time. All the above photos were taken between 7:23 and 7:28 am this morning. The computer blew up while I was messing with the photo of the cat. It almost acted like it might not come back to ‘life’ after I pushed the button twice to shut it down and restart it.

— But, here we are, I think —,

Thursday, April 20th, 2017 – More snow last night – & um, Changed my ‘effbook’ profile pictures.

Thursday, April 20th, 2017 —>  +1˚C / +33˚F —> Grey and might even still be dropping nearly invisible bits of frozen white precipitation @ 9:23 am in Atlantic Canada —

Blue morning lit snow in our driveway.

– Blue-ish morning light at 7:11 am Atlantic Time –

— “They” forecast 2-5 centimeters { Less than an inch to about two inches } of snow overnight, and thought it might all have melted by ‘wake-up’ time. This is more like 3 & 1/2 to 4 inches { around 10 centimeters } of easily dealt with snow on the windshield and rooftop and hood of the van – which Cathi is really vigilant about cleaning completely before she ventures out into the ‘real world’. We had a lot of evidence of ‘early bird’ deer scratching for breakfast and ‘neighbourhood watch’ cat on the prowl, keeping us safe from unsavory characters like mice and chipmunks, and small birds — All of which can hide out in the stone wall and stick their tongues out, act out through other rude gestures or even fly overhead and drop poop bombs at the cat, who after all, is only trying to do her job 😉 —

Selfie with Snow Covered Trees.

– Cathi liked the accidental selfie I showed her last week and thought it might make for a decent new profile photo – I tried for a couple this morning after clearing the snow off the van – This is one of those tries. –

— I also tried to get a selfie with the deer munching away at the oats we put out for them, but as soon as I was close enough to do that, they ran and hid a safe distance from me, well, after all Humans are not all that wonderful to deer – ya know?

Smuch Selfie with Deer?

– Here’s another attempt at ‘Selfie with deer in background’ And I think there actually are deer in the background, if you can spot them to the left of that smug looking guy standing there 😉 –

— In my own defense, here, if I need to do that, my head is at a weird angle as I try to focus on the camera through my bifocals. Yeah, I guess I can look smug without trying – There are 4 deer slightly blurry, but visible to the left of my nose there – between one of the white birches and the snow-laden pine tree. The white deer is one of them. She must have heard that we were worried about her, she’s been around every morning this week.

Committee Breakfast - 4 deer - including 'Whitey' -

– 4 deer munching away this morning at 7:30 am local time { Atlantic Time – We’re an hour ahead of Eastern Time here – nyaaa – } –

— There were more like a dozen deer there earlier, before I wrecked their picnic by thinking it might be cool to try to get a selfie with a bunch of deer having their breakfast pretty darned close behind me – These 4 may have been the hungriest, or most used to my strange antics – The white deer { ‘Piebold’ ? I’m not really sure how widely used that description is used, or where it originated or anything, but I’ve been told that she’s not an albino, she’s a piebold. & when the first sun hits her in the centre of a field, I can see why some traditions give her and others like her a real significance. The Celts might be a lot more tuned into whatever they believe the significance of a white deer might be than the local First Nations – or maybe the local First Nations People are not comfortable letting me know what they believe. } The odd diagonal streaks in this photo are the result of shooting photos from inside our porch. We still have the plastic insulation stuff up on the inside of the widows and if I tried to smooth away the bubble anomalies the deer would be gone in the blink of an eye.

— & That’s probably enough of me blabbing away this morning here –

Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 – We Had a Slight Dusting of Snow – & Some Worrisome Predictions From ‘Psychic Spies’

Tuesday, April 18th, 2017  —> -1˚C / +29˚F —> Grey & Damp @ 5:02 am in Atlantic Canada —> Thinkin’ today might be Bill Randall’s Birthday —

Lotsa young deer enjoying their 'committee' breakfast.

– We’ve had the younger deer showing up in droves the last couple days. Cathi thought the mothers might be close to ‘calving’ time and the kids might be on their own and looking for the easiest or best tasting grazing they know about. You can also see the light dusting of snow we got overnight here –

— Stayed up late to listen to ‘Major Ed’ forecast doom and gloom for the near future on planet Earth. He sounds like he thinks we may be in for another near extinction event here. The North Koreans will most likely set off nukes underground, or delivered through underground tunnels into the South, and most likely wipe Seoul off the map and then have a trap waiting for whatever South Korean troops try to retaliate and set off another nuke in a tunnel. This will probably wipe several North Korean towns and villages off the map, but their “Spoiled Brat” leader, who has proclaimed himself a god,  doesn’t care about small things like his own people, he just wants to keep the power and glory to himself. Several people I know ‘see’ a possible behind the scenes coup taking out the current head of the North Korean Government, but our favourite Remote Viewer and his team doesn’t see that as a probability.

— In other prognostication news: Fukushima has released plumes of radioactive poison that will ‘keep on giving’ – the airborne plume will gradually mess up Vancouver and make much of British Columbia un-live-able. While the plumes in the Pacific Ocean will pretty much kill the Pacific, turn it into a dead ocean. Other sources have told us that Extra-Terrestrials have technology that can ‘eat’ or at least absorb the radio-activity and keep the ocean alive and save many of us from starving to death and going nuts and killing for food, but they can’t act unless enough of us know they’re there and ask for their help. { As in something quite like the “Prime Directive” from Star Trek. } {{ My take on this: The major problem here is the ‘powers who believe they be’ here on Earth are so caught up in trying to maintain their power over everybody else on this planet, they don’t want us to know about any life they can’t control and they’re perfectly willing to let you and your children die so they can delude themselves into thinking they’re rich and powerful and therefore deserve to rule every little detail of your life. —> One possible alternative to knowing that ET’s are out there and willing to help if we ask is/might be: If enough of us pray for help that help might show up in ‘flying saucers’ instead of on the wings of ‘Angels’ —> Or, Praying for help, in time to save the planet from a real nasty bunch of years and a severe loss of life down here in the third dimension/physical universe might have powerful forces step in and do something without revealing whether they are ET’s or Angels. }}

— There are better worlds to reincarnate into. +/or ‘The next world’/’After-Life’ could be a lot nicer for many of us, but look around and see how wonderfully many of us are treating our fellow humans and every other form of life on planet Earth and try to guess how many of us here and now might have to come back to a really nasty waste land and suffer intensely for what they have done and will do in the near future.

— How the heck can I find something positive and hopeful after hearing about and thinking about the stuff I just reported/relayed to you {above} ? — Shrug – The deer in the above photos, while reasonably skittish, did seem to smile thankfully at me as I brought them a bucket of oats and tossed that out to them early this morning. I shot the photo that is above at 6:51 am. —> 651 was the number of the LST my father served on in the Pacific in World War II. Ya think he’s trying to tell me something?

— {{{ & P.S. —> The white deer showed up a little while after I shot the above photo. }}} —

— Calling all Angels & “Beings of the Light” & Advanced, powerful, highly evolved ET’s who can help us: “HELP!”

— Thanks, have a nice day — Sweet dreams — ,

Easter Sunday – April 16th, 2017 — Joyeuses Pâques – & Happy Anything you want to celebrate –

Easter Sunday, April 16th, 2017  —> +11˚C / +52˚F — Cloudy and Damp and Grey @ 7:47 pm in Atlantic Canada —

Cathi + Camera + River + fog

– Cathi, happy with her new cell phone with a spiffier camera – Taking shots of the river and the fog on this grey, damp Easter Sunday –

— We had a couple last minute necessities to get at the local Shoppers Drug Mart and on the way home thought we’d stop and say hello to the St John River in Flood Stage (Receding) I shot about 40 photos of river and fog and receding flood waters, managed to catch Cathi doing the same – I don’t know how many photos she shot with her new cell – I think it has a 16 mega pixel camera with the front and back cameras both at that mega level.

Cathi + River + Fog

– Here’s another shot from another angle and it includes Cathi again 🙂 – & you can see the fog really well from this angle. –

— I’ll have to pause here and go watch Anne (of Green Gables) with the love of my life – Back later to finish this 🙂

St John River Easter Fog & Flood Water.

– The tree and those other plants out there are usually on dry land. You can see how much flood water is still here –

— Driving along, roughly one hundred yards/ meters from the river – the fog looked more extensive, but this is still quite the event –

Walking trail showing signs of flood waters having been higher -

– & Here you can see that the waters were higher { & might get higher again as we are experiencing a spectacular sounding Thunder storm as I try to finish this up and get it posted }. –

— Fredericton, and a lot of New Brunswick, has a lot of very nicely ‘upgraded’ walking / bicycling trails – The building straight ahead – beyond where the water crosses the asphalt of this trail – is a micro – brewery. There were slightly contentious ‘hearings’ about allowing that building to become the micro-brewery and possibly eat up many of the parking spaces that people used while enjoying the walking trails, including those walking across the re-purposed ex-train bridge spanning the foggy river here.

"FredWaters, Fog, & Cathi"

– & One more photo here – The line of bare trees in the river – left of centre – is another section that is usually on dry land, surrounded by dry land – Both the footbridge and Cathi made it into this photo, too 🙂 –

— I processed & uploaded 4 photos to the weather network before I began working on this blog entry –  and discovered that, coincidently, 3 years ago today, I uploaded several photos of “-in and around our home – including shots of the white deer feeding – and down at the river here -” which was in flood stage then, too —

— Happy Holidays, Happy Celebrate Anything You Want To 🙂 – Enjoy the beauty and wonder of life in this precious world we live in 🙂 –

Thursday, April 13th, 2017 —> Whitey Is Back :)

Thursday, April 13th, 2017  —> +2˚C / +36˚F —> Sunny & Clear @ 7:43 am Atlantic Time —

Whitey & Committee friends April 13, 2017.

– It’s hard to see her in the middle of four other deer, but ‘Whitey’ did show up this morning at around 6:45 am –

— We’ve been worried lately about the white deer who usually shows up every day for the oats we throw out to keep the deer from starving in our weirder than usual winters lately. This morning she did show up with a group of 4 other deer who seem to like her company. There have been times when some deer chased her away, even kicked at her – either out of greed, or maybe it was a motherly instinct to make sure the kicker’s offspring got to eat? Deer Psychology is not one of my areas of expertise —

Jassper all wet.

– This is Jassper, on April 9th, wondering what he did wrong to force us to torture him with a shampoo in the shower –

— Poor Jassper, he doesn’t understand why we forced him into the bathtub and made him endure some doggy shampoo and a lot of warm water. – Could be he was proud of the stink he carried after rolling around in his own melting poop as the snow banks recede up here in the great white north —

Whitey & co. 2

– And, this is another shot of this morning’s breakfast crowd – I had the cell phone’s camera set at 4x closeup, and shot through the wrinkled plastic that insulates our porch windows – so it is a bit blurry – but this was the best I could do and our neighbour will be relieved to know the white ‘piebold’ deer is still alive and healthy –

— And here’s another photo of ‘Whitey’ and her friends at about 5 minutes to 7 am this morning. This photo might almost be clear enough to say so if I shrunk it down to half this size – but I didn’t –

— & Um, Is Friday the 13th a Thursday this month? Or should I say, “It’s bad luck to be superstitious-“?

Monday, April 3rd, 2017 – Happy Birthday Cathi! :)

Monday, April 3rd, 2017  —> +8˚C / +46˚F —> Sunny & Bright @ 5:58 pm Atlantic Time —> Happy Birthday Cathi! { heart heart heart } –

Snow Pile + Cathi + Boof

– This was last night @ about ten minutes to 9 pm as we were walking the dog up and down the street here – The very interesting mountain of snow is in one neighbour’s front yard up the street a bit. Most snow banks are about half that height. I think that neighbour had to have a heavy duty bulldozer plow their driveway. –

— Today is my favourite spouse’s birfday 🙂 She got today off, but we’re learning more than we wanted to know about living in a predatory economic culture.

— Saturday we went and got our eyes tested and ordered new glasses. The first place we thought we would go to see what their glasses were like was closed as of 1 pm on a Saturday. Which made no sense to us. But we crossed the bridge on our way home and on the north side of the river here – another store in the same chain was open.  We walked in, looked around, were greeted by a friendly, helpful dark-haired woman who was probably in her twenties – who answered our questions and when she wasn’t sure about something, went into a back room to ask somebody else and came back with good answers – This chain has a ‘get your second pair of glasses free’ policy. Cathi was slightly upset about their ‘pink pricing’ with women’s styles obviously much more expensive than mens’. When she started looking through the ‘mens’ frames for something she figured would be gender neutral, the helpful employee came and told us that certain frames were reduced in price.  Cathi looked at the frames in that category on the women’s side and when they had like two frames that were reduced, the employee disappeared into the back a second time, came back out and said – it is the store’s policy that when they sell out of the reduced price frames too quickly other brands come up to qualify for that same lower price. Okay! Cathi chose a frame in that category. I chose my second pair of glasses along the same lines, from one of those brands that was supposed to be reduced in price due to circumstances. So we had our eyes measured and had technical things done, and that process was finished at 4 minutes past closing time, so they told us they would have to put the order through on Monday – today. Today we received a call to come in and went in and were processed by a frowning blond-haired woman who wasn’t there on Saturday, and the cheerful dark-haired woman who waited on us was working in a different store. Our blond-haired woman called the dark-haired woman to ask a couple of questions and frowned a lot as she processed our order, told Cathi that her order had not been entered – Then, near the end of this ordeal today, said, “Oh – there you are, she put you through as ‘Cathi’ instead of Catherine. But when we got home and looked at the invoice the blond woman had printed out – the price for Cathi’s frames was more than twice what we had been told they would cost. We will raise a little hell here – Schnarr! –

— We’ll keep you posted.

snow falling

– This is snow beginning to fall last Monday @ about 2:30 pm – in what was billed as, “Perhaps, the last significant snow fall of the season-” { Let’s hope so – } –

— Cathi says it always snows around her birthday up here. Last Monday into Tuesday we expected to get something like 5 to 10 centimeters of heavy blowing snow – ( That’s like two to four inches in human terms. ) { I still do not like the idea that idiots who believe they have the power to over-ride what the general citizens of any given area want – whether it’s weights and measures, distances, temperature systems, or whatever – just go ahead and do it and to hell with what anybody who voted them into office thinks, desires, or believes should happen. } { Grrrrrr- }

Apres le storm.

– And this is last Tuesday, @ about 11:05 am – After the storm had come and left its white stuff behind for us to deal with. –

— This photo is tipped at a slightly different angle from the one above it. I think all I did was turn a little to my right, and tried to get the horizon in the centre at about the most correct angle I could – You may notice that the swing in the right there is buried under just a bit more snow than it had been buried under the day before.

Jassper.

– Jassper, ‘hamming’ it up for the camera with his laser eyes uncorrected –

— Jassper almost looks like he’s giving us an evil grin here – He got all excited and wanted to go play in the snow while it was falling, would come in with an all white back and run to the refrigerator – all but saying, “I had fun, now it’s time for a treat, right?”

Moe in the living room.

– Moe, on the other hand, is completely bored with all this cold white stuff contaminating his ‘outside’ world to the point where he just looks through the door and then turns and glowers at me for letting it snow where he would really love to go and plop down in green growing grass and sun himself. –

— Moe is glaring at the door in this photo, staying far enough back in the centre of the living room to avoid the possibility of any cold white stuff sneaking up and landing on him. 🙂

— Sigh – So it should be “Be Nice To Cathi Day” Every day should be “Be Nice to Cathi” day. But the forces of Schnarr are hell-bent on their economic warfare regime and while we know that the predatory economic system is about to backfire and explode in their faces, they’re still at it. Our best authority on the subject tells us the ‘fit hits the shan’ for banksters in 2019 – just stay far enough away so they don’t bring you down with them.

— Schnarr! —,
