– Jassper was hanging out at the door, looked like he wanted to go out. I went to the door and opened it – he looked up at the television monitor and shambled off to his crate, walked in and plopped down. Don’t tell me our pets don’t feel what we’re feeling – So I turned the television off and plodded into the bedroom, turned on some baroque music and had Jassper for company in less than a minute –
— Again, I set this up early and left it, came back late in the evening and well – I’m still aching physically and in mourning for targets of hate & misunderstanding. Ex-Governor General of Canada Adrian Clarkson drew a parallel connection from the border blocking propaganda in the states to the atrocity in Quebec City – I keep thinking we’re getting somewhere and the ‘good people of this planet’ are waking up and can’t be manipulated the way they have been for centuries – But when stuff like this hits the fan – I don’t know –
— So I watched several episodes of “Person of Interest” on Bell’s ‘Crave TeeVee’ – I’ve gone through the whole series, all 5 years – twice already in the last few months – I’m trying to figure out why I like it so much. Bang bang shoot ’em ups are not my favourite things to watch – I’m not an adrenaline junky – I like the way so many characters in this series are really dynamic and multi-dimensional – Bad guys do good things – Good guys do things they regret – I’ve nearly groaned and skipped over episodes because of their short description – but watched them anyway and became pretty much fascinated by the on-going story currents being woven in around and through the episodic ‘who’s in danger or might be a threat this week?’ stories of the people they protect or protect the innocent from. Canadian television has warning statements before each episode and Crave T.V. has their own kind of ‘we’re not sure what’s in this episode, so you get the generic version of a blanket warning – something like ‘what you’re about to see might have violence, adult situations, nudity and all sorts of other stuff sensible people might object to – please watch sensibly’ {?????}
— The Sufis – { Islamic Mystics } speak about people seeing the world through black veils and white veils – Black veils when they believe they are under the power of dark forces, white veils when they believe they are doing God’s work and therefore can do no wrong. – The real trick is to throw off the veils and see this world for what it really is.
— Yeah, so I’m looking at all this through the veil of a nasty cold &/or allergies gone wild —
