Monday, January 8th, 2018 —> Back to School – Back to Work – Back on the Chain Gang in New Brunswick?

Monday, January 8th, 2018 —> -15˚C / +5˚F with ‘light snow’ @ 6:44 am in Atlantic Canada —> On this day in the year 1958 my fambly moved into our long time residence on Huntington Road —

2018-01-08 7:50 am Snowy landscape with driveway and lit up porch.

– & this was our driveway and lit up porch { looking South } this morning at about 7:50 am Atlantic Time –

— We woke up to about 7 cm / almost 2 & 1/2 inches of very fluffy light new snow on everything out there in the real world this morning.

van leaving driveway this morning.

– Cathi leaving for work this morning –

— If we weren’t so busy grumbling about two and a half inches of new snow that needed to be cleaned from the van we probably would have wanted to blast, “I don’t like Mondays!” on the nearest available stereo device. The very light fluffy snow might be pretty, but it was slippery. { And that’s our garbage and recycling near the curb you can’t see, because nobody can see it today 😉 } & My supervisor at TVCOGECO would probably have yelled at me because the photo looks like it was taken on an angle that was not level – But: The street is not perfectly level. The utility pole is not perfectly level and the whole freakin world is off kilter lately – isn’t it? And somebody on the radio last week explained that our weather patterns are way off kilter because the earth’s crust slipped almost imperceptibly last year and that was just enough to screw up our weather patterns. I think my Yogi friends would probably argue that the weather, and the slipping of the crust were probably symptoms of what goes wrong when the spiritual atmosphere of our world is heavily manipulated by nasty greedy ‘elite’ power crazy idjits who control as much ‘information’ and ‘fake news’ as they can get away with – We’re bombarded with insidious lies constantly – designed to keep up as off center and in a state of easily manipulated constant fear and confusion. Somebody start playing “Everybody wants to rule the world” –

Road Conditions this morning.

– Cathi told me that somebody where she works raved about how intelligent the road crews were around here – as far as they left a little bit of snow on the roads so tires could get a grip. – She wasn’t impressed. –

— & Road clearing philosophy aside —>

Side yard?

– Was it Currier and Ives who painted all kinds of idyllic winter scenes in the 19th century? I’m thinking this is really pretty. I hated the fact that by the 1970’s in Southern Connecticut all of our snow either melted or turned black from automobile exhaust within about a week of it falling. But I guess, this is my punishment for liking snow – “Brrrrrr!”

— Um, have I done enough damage for today?

Saturday, Snow, Then Rain, Then Snow Again ? — From “Latest News from Aerendel”

Copied & Pasted from “Latest News from Aerendel” :

=====

Saturday, February 20th, 2016, —ƒƒ— +2˚C / +36˚F & raining at the moment in Atlantic Canada @ 1:11 pm  —ƒƒ— Kathy Krafchick’s Birthday ( & Patty Heart’s too) —ƒƒ—

light dusting of snow on trees and stone wall

– Um, I took this photo about an hour ago. It was still snowing then, but lightly. –

— “Yooks Yike another weird weather day in Atlantic Canada” It began with a light snow falling, the Weather Network expects we might get a centimeter – and then they expect rain ( they were right on that ) And then they expect the rain to turn back to snow –  I don’t think they wanted to guess how much snow we might get on the second round of white stuff, but they thought we might get “≅ 10 mm.” [ almost 10 millimeters ] of rain – But they only expected the temperature to reach 0˚C / 32˚F and we’ve already gone past/above and beyond that.

Crow in a tree against a grey (snowing) sky.

Two Crows were scolding me – When I picked up the camera and aimed at them, one flew away. If you can see the crow in this photo we’re both lucky. Yeah, I think I got him – Upper third & Right third of the photograph. I know what I was looking for.

— Yeah, Crow is one of my ‘totem animals’ – but I’m not about to call myself “Jim Crow”, or ‘Jim Mountain Lion” or Owl or Wolf or Turtle or Swan or Skunk – There’s a Dog in the mix too, and I think Possum shows up to protect my inner child by deflecting threats away – You can read all about that in “Medicine Cards” – don’t google it – go to smartpage dot com and protect your privacy –

Dusting of snow on a stone wall.

And This is the part of the stone wall that caught enough of this morning’s dusting to look interesting, at least to me.

— And while I was uploading photos from the camera’s SD card I realized I hadn’t uploaded the couple of photos I took during our latest visit to the north side’s Pizza Delight, ether on Maple Street or St Mary’s (street or road?)

Cathi in our Pizza Delight restaurant.

I might have mentioned this before, Cathi had some modeling experience as a teen-ager And she looks like a slightly different person in almost every photograph I’ve seen of her. I egged her on to pose for this one, Don’t know whether she’s putting on a modeling face of thinking I’ve lost my mind again for asking her to tip her head forward and look up at me. Almost every model I’ve ever talked to wished that professional photographers were a lot more human than they pretend to be.

— Yay? I should quit while I’m ahead –,

Ground Hog Day – 2016

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016 — -6˚C / +21˚F — Sunny & bright, clear, and colder than yesterday in Atlantic Canada @ 9:11 am — Birthdays today: Close Friend Lisa and Cousin Lyn in Connecticut 🙂 & I think our friend Angie ( née Shean ) up here has a birthday too – 🙂 —

"Icebergs"

I don’t know if this will be readable – but a friend impressed me by doing this on an obsolete computer with an obsolete operating system and an obsolete photo program.

— Draelen Shantivarta ( ‘Somewhere out west’ -) managed to download a screen shot from the game that several of us are still working on, and, using a G5 Mac running OS X 10.4-something which supports OS 9 “Classic”, where he used Photo Deluxe, a program from the early 90’s, to import, trim, and write every line ( one at a time ) then drag and resize the text (one line at a time). & to tell ya the truth, the screen shot looks like icebergs are floating close to shore somewhere.

Bernie and Barbara.

Barbara Walters interviewing Bernie Sanders before anybody had any idea that he could do so well in Iowa

— A lot of people were buzzing this morning about how well Bernie Sanders did in the Iowa Caucus yesterday. He started out polling in single digits and ended up in a virtual tie with Hillary Clinton, who is backed by big money and a powerful political machine.

Caucus Results

Hillary received 49.9% of the Democratic Votes tallied in yesterday’s Iowa Caucuses, Bernie received 49.5%? That should scare a lot of the wrong people. And six of the delegates were awarded by a coin toss?

— Hillary’s supporters were tweeting up a storm yesterday while Bernie had Michael Moore and a handful of activist celebrities ( including Susan Sarandon ( “Dammit – Janet!” ) and Wil Wheaton? – ( Wesley from Star Trek Next Generation? ) Plus a lot of dedicated grass-roots people. Exit polls cited by the BBC said 84-91% of voters under 30 years old voted for ‘The Bern’

California Bridge over shallow water stream

– This is in California? Wow –

— & As for me, I think I’d like to be in a nice warm place like the photo above right now. The person who tweeted it said, “California”? Must be upstate, north of San Francisco?

Water falling lazily around an old castle somewhere?

– And I have no idea where this is, but I do believe I could live there and love it. –

— Looks like the inspiration for the Elven City of Rivendel, as portrayed in The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings Movies.

Bridge over a river somewhere.

– And this is another beautiful, intriguing place that I think I’d like to at least visit –

— I think my friend, Draelen, knows more about where this photographer/Tweeter is from, I think he told me she’s from Germany – But wow – what a beautiful world we live in. I think somebody tweeted a photo of Leonard Nimoy as Spock with a quote that went something like, [ understatement alert ] “Anybody who would destroy their home planet – is illogical.”

— I spent yesterday doing carpentry stuff, reinforcing the wobbly legs to a computer desk, and then brought an overheating iMac back from its most recent ‘near-death-experience’, caught up with a couple of friends on effbook and twitter, and watched ‘Supergirl’ and ‘X-Files’ before making sure computers were still okay and hadn’t blown up yet and forgot to take one of my medications. ( And No – I’m not one of the people doug otterson cited as needing to self medicate after seeing the photograph of an upright black cat playing a guitar – 😉

— And – I’m still wracking my brains over how to handle difficult passages in a novel that I’m trying to finish.

— Happy Ground Hog Day!

Planned Obsolescent Schnarr –

Friday, July 3rd, 2015 -( 22°C / 72°F @ 11:45 am under sunny skies on our side of the river here in Atlantic Canada )- -My friend, Greg’s daughter -Kyla-‘s birfday 🙂

Domino, looks like he was complaining about something or other- IN May of 2013

Domino, looks like he was complaining about something or other- In May of 2013

— Okay, let’s see. I can’t say this morning got off to a rough start because I’m still up since last night. The computer I rely on the most, the one I’m writing this on right now, is going blind on me- if I’m doing any graphic-heavy 3D stuff- the monitors suddenly go black and say “hey- we’re not connected to anything-” and since I got this computer specifically to work on completing my game world, and the game that’s supposed to happen inside that world- this is disconcerting. I better look up the spelling on that one, it doesn’t look right. Must be okay, the spell checker doesn’t like words with dashes attached to them, but ‘disconcerting’ passed their test.

— Planned obsolescence –  Do you think that anybody who ever thought it was a good idea to make sure stuff fell apart more sooner than later so they could sell more stuff should be drawn and quartered in public? I mean why wait until these mudder fuppers die and have to face their karma in their life reviews? For the same reason that judges are all going to be in big trouble when they have to explain themselves to the Man who told them “Judge not- that ye be judged-” It’s not my place to condemn ice holes for making everybody’s lives miserable? -Shrug- But every once in a while I want to be there when one of those ‘persons’ is in dire need of a quick ride to a hospital and the parts he so cleverly had his engineers make out of plastic instead of aluminum the way they had always been in the past- fall apart and the ice hole has to die alone in his vehicle because his clever designs worked so freakin well? I mean the height of this revenge type thinking would be, the poster child for planned obsolescence opens the door of his planned obsolete automobile, falls to the pavement and gasps for help and some homeless guy whose life he ruined comes over to him, blind drunk, opens his zipper and pees all over the slime ball while that evil ice hole gasps his last breaths and dies in an extreme state of fear. Grumble grumble grumble —

— But- on a lighter note – I did download over 750 photos (not all of them worth keeping) onto three different computers last night while dealing with computer catastrophes. The stupid ‘We know better than you do what you want to do’- routines inside one computer decided that I wanted all 757 photos to go get lost somewhere on a cloud, and told me my drop box was full. So I swore at that computer and told it to take those photos down from the flippin cloud and put them in a nice new file on my desktop. When it – obviously scared half to death – did what I told it to, I discovered a couple lost gems in that flippin cloud, that I never wanted anything to do with in the first place. No danged cloud has any business grabbing my stuff like that. And, oh yeah, the nearly lost gems on that should be lost cloud? – the above photo of Domino the Bengal Cat was one of them. Yum.

— And now I should belatedly get my posterior to bed. I’m going to skype with mom tonight, and she’s delighted to be able to see me and hear me when I do that. And now that I got my grumbling done, I won’t have to darken our conversation tonight with angry thoughts about ice holes who so freakin cleverly design things to fall apart a long time before they need to. – I won’t say, “May they rot in hell.” Because we’re already there, so how about, “May they open their eyes and realize they’ve created a living hell for themselves right here and now.” – Shrug. I often think I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy, because I don’t collect enemies and sort them according to how rotten they are to their cores- But- Waking up in hell is a blessing that us truth-seeking ‘Angels-In-Training’ wish upon ourselves so we can continue our mission to manifest Heaven on Earth. & No, it’s not too late to keep trying to do that.

— Yay?

Hacks, Extortion, & Schnarr like that

Thursday, June 18, 2015 -( 16°C / 61°F & Sunny with scattered clouds @ 9:30 am in Atlantic Canada )- Today  might be Paul McCartney’s birthday.

Screen shot of a world builder character.

Kaelyn planting flowers in the hills of Aerendel. Jim W used this screen shot for his new twitter background, Kaelyn got lost behind the tweets. – Oh, When you’re building a gaming world, you need to have a builder character in the area you’re creating and/or improving. That’s where Kaelyn came in. She’s a world improver.

— So we had a problem with a web provider. They claim our site was infected because we hadn’t purchased their security service, we did, but they wanted us to purchase their premium package which costs twice as much per year as their quoted price from their yearly hosting package.

—The odd thing is, they shut down our site on almost the same day as a guy who wrote a book on cyber-security fraud and extortion, claiming the U.S. Government is involved in a conspiracy to grab total control over everything on the internet. Part of this alleged plot involves cyber-security firms that appear to be a private industry on the surface but were found to have deep ties with the US Government when the author dug deeper.

— We contacted the author with a fairly wordy play by play description of what we were told and he told us to scrap the web provider and go with somebody bigger, who has more to lose if they’re caught with their hands in your cookie jar and somebody sees the US Federal Trade Commission pulling their strings behind the curtain. He suggested GoDaddy? We gotta think about that. Meanwhile, if any of you want to see what happens when extortionists shut down a web site for thinly veiled attempts to extort $189.99 per year above and beyond the $131.88 listed ‘renewal’ price. They’re currently claiming an introductory rate of $15.00 for the first year. If you’re considering going with a company that calls itself ‘Fat Cow web hosting’, think again. Look them up on your favourite search engine and visit their propaganda page on the web. Then look at http://www.aerendel.ca/blogz.html and pay attention to all the error pages they plastered on any page to ‘aerendel dot org’ that comes up.

— Shrug, check back here in a couple weeks or more to see what we decide to do.

— Thanks,

——— Jim d’Aerendel ——

Committee Breakfast May 15, 2015

Friday Morning, May 15th, 2015 -( 9°C / 48°F @ 8:15 am, Sunny & Bright in our little corner of Atlantic Canada )-

2015May15-Committee-0732a

7:30 am- 3 deer looking a bit scruffy as they get ready to shed their winter coats. Photo was ‘auto adjusted’ in PhotoShop. That made the greens greener.

Deer grazing on a hill.

I’m taking these photographs through windows that still have plastic on the inside. It’s not as easy to notice the blurry sections as a few earlier photos taken through the same windows.

Four deer on a hill looking like three.

There are four deer in this photo. I like the “push me – pull you” effect created by the two deer in the middle. One standing guard, looking away from the camera, the other munching on oats I tossed out onto the hill about an hour earlier.

— These photos here are larger than I usually upload them. The grass is beginning to turn green, Spring is here. I think we survived another nasty winter. The bad guys might be trying to bluff us into believing most of the world is going bankrupt while they’re “laughing all the way to the bank”. The sun felt warm even through the windows and across the room. & The guy who owns the field the deer are in either came here and cut the tree that fell down last summer in the Storm they named “Arthur” or paid somebody to do that.

— I can’t think of anything clever to finish this off with just now. Still kind of ‘shell shocked’ over the death of a pet. It feels like life goes on – and silly me, after a couple “Near Death Experiences” myself, I’m pretty sure I’ll see those pets again in the ‘next life’ — But that didn’t make it any easier. And every time life drops one of its ‘little surprises’ – all of our priorities seem to come up for review and have themselves reshuffled. You find out again who your real friends are and suddenly you’re locked in an echo chamber where ideas like: “Nobody ever comes back from a near death experience with the Divine message that they should have spent more time at work-” reverberate in your body, mind and spirit as if they’ve been double or triple underlined.

Yesterday? Today? or Tomorrow?

Cave and other stand alone stones

A cave that had been eroded into the base of a now standalone stone at 'flowerpot rocks'

Hopewell Rocks from well below the high tide line.

Saturday, 30 August, 2014 -( 15˚C / 59˚F @ 11:11 pm )-

It’s been a busy week- Cathi had the week off. Neither one of us was feeling all that good all week. We took Moe to the vet’s to get his matts trimmed away and he was pretty darned good about it until the groomer got the ‘buzzy’ too close to spots where cats want no one to go with a hair trimmer- So- nobody got slashed or shredded and he only refused to talk to us for a couple hours and now he looks like a lion, and he can strut around showing off- Cathi said he was much better in the temperament department after he realized he could lick his fur without anything pulling.

On Friday we drove to the Bay of Fundy. The map we got with a visitor’s guide stunk. The GPS wanted to send us straight east to Moncton and then down. Friends, and daughters, had told us to take the seaside route, down to Sait John and turn left. We got going a little bit late. The map looked like we were about to make a wrong turn and I told Cathi we needed an exit that the map looked like we needed to take. So we only got a little bit lost, and the most direct route to ‘Hopewell Rocks’ had a few too many construction sites along the way, but we did stop for some home-made ice cream and made a friend, I think- Nice guy who uses all natural ingredients, he’s 73 years old and looks younger, and he thought I looked younger than I told him I am. I left him a link to a web site and an email address and never thought to ask his name. He lives on the west side of highway 114 a bit north west of Alma.

We got to the rocks at twenty minutes to closing and the light was not so good when we got there. But I think I got one decent photo to replace another photo at the top of one of my blogs and that worked out okay, I think.

Today I felt lousy and had strange fever dreams, one of Tony Soprano’s enforcers came around to axe me what was the hold up with getting my mother out of the house she had sold to a nice little old Italian lady who had bad friends and no patience. And a melancholy girl who had been kicked out of her home by her mother, supported by her grandmother for a couple years and then told not to come home without a job or money for rent and grandma and aunty didn’t care what she had to do to get it, wanted to know if she could make a lot of money posing nude for a photographer and I guess I looked like a photographer and I felt awful for her and gave her the keys to my travel trailer (In the dream I had a small travel trailer- not the tiny- made in Canada ones, but small and when I got her there she was afraid to stay in it alone, so I slept at the kitchen table while she slept in the bed and I don’t know how that turned out because I woke up.

The photos did not load where they should have- and when I tried to click on one to try to see if I could move it down and write above it- everything else on this page disappeared.

But I got it back, I can live with this- so I guess I can’t complain too loudly-

(—AAAaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggh!)
