Highe Elves :\u00a0\u00a0 are tall, thin, aloof, studious, Intelligent, Spiritual, Long Lived and have a<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">nearly unsurpassed understanding of Magic.\u00a0 (They believe they were the first of the<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">&#8220;Junior Races&#8221; to evolve.)<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">2. Forest Elves :\u00a0 are &#8220;average&#8221; in height and build, communal, sensitive, empathic, compassionate<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> and prefer &#8216;Natural&#8217; environments. (They shun the study of &#8216;Orthodox&#8217; Magic.)<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">3. Mer :\u00a0 are the descendants of Highe or Forest Elves who went underwater.\u00a0 They breath<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: v;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Oxygen, have evolved extra chambers in their lungs that allow them to remain submerged<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">for an hour or longer.\u00a0 They have some of the strangest hair colours in this world. They have<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">other racial tendencies that make them unique, like ESP and a propensity for madness.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">4. Dark Elves:\u00a0 were the offspring of Elves who had been captured and enslaved by the Ghardra.<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">They were slaves of, and mistreated by, their Ghardran masters for centuries. They usually<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">have greyish, greenish, or olive coloured skin. Many have permanent chips on their<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">shoulders. They have a natural affinity for Magic. Many form partnerships with (tolerant)<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Delvahrian Metalsmiths to produce beautiful and charmed weapons and other objects.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">5. Half Elves:\u00a0 are usually half human, a few are half Ottarian, half Mer, or &#8216;Mixed&#8217; Elves. This is an extremely diverse group. Many develop chips on<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">their shoulders or knock themselves out in the name of finding acceptance. Many are<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">extremely creative. A few become quite destructive.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">6. Humans:\u00a0 appeared in this world suddenly and multiplied rapidly. They are not particularly<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">liked or trusted by the other Elvish races. If they apply themselves, and learn Tolerance, they<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">can succeed in just about anything.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">7. Delvahrians:\u00a0 (absolutely hate being called &#8216;Dwarves&#8217;) are shortish, extremely solid, extremely<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamentos;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> strong, and almost indefatigable. They are immune to most Magic.They are natural miners and<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">metalsmiths. They consider themselves to be extremely religious and have been known to<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">break into fist fights over the finer principles of religious dogma. They try to be tolerant<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Fondamento;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">toward the &#8216;weaker&#8217; races.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"><b>Furry Races:\u00a0 <\/b>(All members of these races have claws:)<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">8.\u00a0 Khatzen:\u00a0 are the furriest of the furry races. They have a markedly &#8216;Cat-like&#8217; appearance.<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> They are Tribal. Traditionally, they mistrusted and feared Magic. (Only their Shamen, who<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">were considered to &#8216;walk among the dead&#8217;, were allowed to use Magic.) Religious Magic was<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">and is considered to be the gift of the gods (or God, for the recent Monotheistic converts).<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">(*Since &#8220;khat&#8221; is some kind of addictive drug in the real world, I may change the name<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">of this race. Let me know what you think about that.)<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">They are strong and agile, a bit hard to understand, and would rather keep to themselves than<\/span><\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman,Times;\"><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">mingle with other races. The few &#8216;urbanized&#8217; Khatzen around try to tolerate &#8216;outside races&#8217;.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">9. Faaxen:\u00a0 (Less Furry)\u00a0 Faaxen have furless faces. Males grow prodigious sideburns, and very thin<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">moustaches. Many keep their tails hidden. They reserve the right to kill anyone who asks if<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">they (especially women) have hair on their chests (or anywhere else that doesn&#8217;t normally <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">show). Faaxen are clever, often obsessive. They lack the physical strength of the<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Khatzen, but make up for this in &#8216;Inner Strength&#8217;. Thieves and Religious Professionals<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">are equally valued in the Faaxen culture. Their Moral Sense is confusing to outsiders.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">10. Ursans:\u00a0 Ursans are large, strong, gregarious, fun loving, and not always super bright-<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> (Ursan Women are more intelligent than their men.) Their large, round faces accommodate<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> thick, but not usually long beards. Men are proud of the hair on their bodies (which is a lot<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> more sparse than the fur on a Khatzen body). It is rumoured that women use creams to <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">remove most bodily hair. Men tend to be Bards (love telling jokes and drinking) and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Carpenters. Women make a life long study of learning to motivate their men.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">11. Ottarians: are usually under five feet tall and slender. They are playful, more intelligent than<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">wise, nurturing, friendly to a fault and very quick and dangerous in a fight. They are confused<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">by the concept of &#8216;private property&#8217; and share anything they&#8217;ve got with almost anybody. <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> [Delvahrians, who consider them &#8216;compulsive thieves&#8217;, believe that hard work can actually<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> kill an Ottarian, and, out of a sense of duty to the less fortunate, often construct whole<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> villages for them. Delvahrians will never forget than an &#8216;army&#8217; of Ottarians saved their<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> civilization.]<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Faer Races:\u00a0 (See &#8216;The Faer Kingdoms&#8217; in the Manual)<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">12. Sprites:\u00a0 are tiny, winged empaths. (They range from 6 inches to 2 feet, 5 inches in height)<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Most live to serve all creatures around them. Most specialize is serving one type of creature<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">for life. (Those who love trees will rarely mix with those who love flowers.) Most have wings<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">that resemble: Dragonfly&#8217;s, Butterfly&#8217;s or Hummingbirds&#8217; wings. Rare Sprites have wings<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">that resemble undulating translucent circles. Sprites with &#8216;Bats&#8217; Wings&#8217; often have peculiar <\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">ideas about how best to serve sentient beings and have been known to test &#8216;Lust Arrow&#8217; spells<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">in times and places that most would consider &#8216;extremely inappropriate&#8217;.<\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">13. Faer Elves:\u00a0 { Faer Elves are not Meta Morphs }\u00a0 Faer Elves are shortish, spindly, peevish (they<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> live for a very very long time and develop intolerance for answering questions that they<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> believe they gave everyone the answers for millennia ago-) and eccentric with a capital &#8216;E&#8217;.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> They often avoid contact with &#8216;inferior&#8217; races by going about as cats. They can shift their<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> forms between their Elvish bodies, a pure cat form (almost always a domestic cat&#8217;s form), and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> a very strange upright creature with &#8216;psychedelic&#8217; coloured fur known as a &#8216;Faer Cat&#8217;. A Faer<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Elf vegetarian will see nothing wrong with torturing and eating mice as a cat, and we&#8217;re<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> almost afraid to ask what Faer Cats eat.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">14. Dhalggers:\u00a0 { Dhalggers are not Meta Morphs }\u00a0 It is very rare to see a Dhalgger in his or her<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">&#8216;Natural&#8217; form outside the Faer Kingdoms. Their natural form is that of a humanoid with a<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> dog&#8217;s head. Most Dhalggers go about in &#8216;our&#8217; dimension as Half Elves, Humans, or Ottarians.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Dhalggers can also assume a four legged dog&#8217;s form. Dhalggers are communal beings. They<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> are more intelligent than they look, nearly as empathic as Sprites, and have a knack for<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> healing and nurturing. They are not among the best in normal military arts, unless someone<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> they care about is threatened. They can often scare an enemy half to death by changing their<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> form to resemble a were-wolf. If the ruse fails they&#8217;re in trouble, after shifting to that form,<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> a Dhalgger will not have enough energy left to put up a decent fight.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">27. Dryads:\u00a0 are full sized, winged, beautiful cratures.\u00a0 (They range from 3 to 5.5 feet in height)<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">It was long believed that all Dryads were females and &#8216;barren&#8217;. This is not so. They are less<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">capable of defending themselves than most. They are extremely empathic, and are the elves of<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">legend, most likely to &#8220;steal&#8221; mistreated children from members of almost any other race.<\/span> <\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">They cannot stand the thought of suffering, unloved children. And, Although most of them have<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">very brightly coloured wings (most often compared to Butterfly&#8217;s wings) They have a racial <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">ability to blend in with their surroundings and become almost invisible, almost anywhere.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Adults are among the most affectionate creatures in this world. Just don&#8217;t neglect or abuse<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">a child in their presence.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">28. Satyrs:\u00a0 are hoofed men and women, of average height. Most have horns growing out of their heads. <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">(Some horns grow out of foreheads, some from beneath the hair line on the sides of their heads.)<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Most have a deep love of music, stories and wine. Most are very gregarious, friendly creatures.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">They are not too crazy about humans, and especially members of the cult that wears crosses on gold<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">or silver chains around their necks. These humans mistook Satyrs for demonic creatures in their<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> legends and set a bounty on them. Satyrs have strong, furry legs and strong, sensitive hands.<\/span> <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Qaeglans:\u00a0 (Mammalian-Bird Hybrids)<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 *Qaeglans are &#8216;Winged Elvish&#8217; (or &#8216;Humanoids&#8217;) whose home planet was over-run by Sectoids.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">They, themselves, believe they are separated into three distinct races that cannot inter-marry.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Others refer to these divisions as Sub-Species: Within these races or sub-species are <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">innumerable clans. All Qaeglans have retractible Talons that make walking difficult.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">15. Doves:\u00a0 are the smallest, most fragile Qaeglans. They are also the most intelligent, and the most<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">prone to develop Magic and\/or &#8216;Psidahrian&#8217; talents. Many also delve into the Arts and Bardic<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Sciences. Doves tend to have the lightest and brightest wing colours. (Usually grow between<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">three and four feet tall).<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">16. Ravenna:\u00a0 are the mid sized Qaeglans. They are also the most diverse. They usually grow to<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">between four and six feet in height. They come in all temperaments and exhibit all kinds of<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> professional propensities. They are more physically fragile than &#8216;walkers&#8217; of similar size<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> and must train for years before they can use their talons really effectively in a fight. A lot of<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> strength and stamina goes into flying. They can be murder with ranged weapons.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">17. Hawks:\u00a0 are the rarest Qaeglans, but may be the most often seen by non Qaeglans. They usually<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">grow to between seven and nine feet in height.\u00a0 They are the strongest and least fragile. <\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Qaeglan-Hawks have been known to swoop down on enemies, catch them in their talons, fly<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">up a couple hundred feet and let go. Most Hawks follow Military and\/or Construction callings.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><center>\u00a0<\/center><\/p>\n<h3><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Un-Classifiable:<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">18. Ymmpen:\u00a0 &#8216;Ymmps&#8217; claim to have the genetic codes to all creatures in their DNA. But, they<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">have three strands of the stuff, so they call it &#8220;TNA&#8221;. They&#8217;re not quite Mammals, they aren&#8217;t<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">exactly Reptilian, they certainly are not insects and they&#8217;re not quite birds. (A few Ymmps<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> in each generation grow some kind of wings but they&#8217;re almost always useless.) Most Ymmps<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">look like they&#8217;ve been assembled from spare parts. They are usually between two and four feet<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">tall and most often appear to be the missing link between Mammalians and Reptiles. They all<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> have tails. Their tails contain glands that secrete an oily liquid that the Ghardran discovered<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> can, if brewed just right, bestow &#8216;Magical Powers&#8217; and longevity on the Ghardra who drinks<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">it (If that Ghardra survives the acute nausea and hallucinations, and did brew it correctly).<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Other than that, Ymmps are fun-loving, intelligent, philosophical, irreverent, playful and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> compassionate. Smoking is good for them. They all try to develop an instant spell they call<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> &#8216;Fire Breath&#8217;, which can kill most Ghardra (and anybody else) as well as light a fire or cigar.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Reptilian:<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">19. Ghardra: The Ghardra are about the closest thing to Goblins we have in this world. They&#8217;re<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">born weak, sickly, stupid, sneaky, and afraid of everything around them. But every once in a<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">while, one of them will cut a deal with an &#8216;evil spirit&#8217; and become stronger, more intelligent, <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">sneakier and more powerful. (These are the &#8216;High Ghardra&#8217; who rule over their sub-terranean<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">empires with brute force and terror.) (Unless their &#8216;evil spirit&#8217; becomes bored with them and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">then they&#8217;re usually torn to pieces and eaten alive by the Ghardra they terrorized and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">brutalized. (Oh, they&#8217;re cannibals, too.) But then, every once in a while some lucky Ghardra<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">manages to capture an Ymmp, cut off its tail, and brew a noxious potion, which, if the<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">brewer survives, gives the Ghardra Super-Natural powers. They become &#8216;Arch-Ghardra&#8217; and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">make life interesting for everybody. (Ymmps without tails waste away and die within months.)<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">(Ymmps cannot be killed during the brewing or they can poison the potion from &#8216;beyond&#8217;.)<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Adolph Hitler was an Arch-Ghardra who somehow made it to the planet Earth. Ghardra don&#8217;t<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">like sunlight.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">20. Drax: are usually upright bi-pedal sentient Reptilians. Most are not too bright. Most are large,<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">strong, brutal, and dangerous. Some are very intelligent. Intelligent Drax can be even more<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">dangerous. Most Drax consider anything that isn&#8217;t Reptilian fair game, and possibly, food.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Some Drax believe in co-existing peacefully with other races. Most don&#8217;t. Drax come in many<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">sizes, shapes and temperaments. Some prefer swamps. Some prefer deserts. Some have large<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">heads. Some have heads that look like bubbles on celery stalks. Most have claws. Some can<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">spit (or bite with) poison.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">21. Gremlins: are short, slight, quick &amp; agile Reptilians. They are self-absorbed and make terrible<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">parents. Young Gremlins either learn to steal the food they need or they die. A few Gremlins<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">can pass for &#8216;clever&#8217;, but Wisdom is not in their vocabulary. A few manage to learn one<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">or two rudimentary magic spells, but there aren&#8217;t many Magic Guilds or Trainers who will<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> teach a Gremlin anything. Gremlin &#8216;Mages&#8217; or &#8216;Sorcerers&#8217; more likely steal or buy &#8216;charms&#8217;<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> containing a limited number of uses of one spell or other. But most Gremlins live and die by<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> their thieving skills. They are also pretty good at sabotage and with booby traps.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Exo-Skeletal:<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">22. Tiger Spiders: are large (up to eight feet across and four feet tall) extremely sentient spiders.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">They have yellow and black stripes on their legs (hence, the name). They were hunted to<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">the edge of extinction by the Sectoids and decided that their only hope of survival was to<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> study and befriend sympathetic &#8216;Two-Legs&#8217;. Their language is a system of clicks, grunts and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> grinding noises that only a few Elves, Ymmps, Half Elves and Humans have ever attempted<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> to learn. Many Tiger Spiders have &#8216;Psidahrian&#8217; talents and will communicate with &#8216;Two-Legs&#8217;<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> they think they can trust in this manner. Their knowledge of Magic Rivals the Highe Elves&#8217;.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> They can spin extremely valuable (light and nearly impenetrable) &#8216;Tiger Silk&#8217; Armour.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> They can use their webbing to trap and immobilize their enemies. They can also paralyze with<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> their stingers.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">23. Sectoids:\u00a0 are huge Insect-Elvish hybrids. They are believed to be the result of pre-historic<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> racial tampering by the &#8216;Brotherhood&#8217; (a power-hungry cult of the First Race {see<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Mythology}).\u00a0 Many have grotesque &#8216;humanoid&#8217; faces (the Elves won&#8217;t own up to this one)<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> and can speak more or less understandably to members of most other races. Many more<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">cannot communicate with anyone outside their own race. Most want nothing to do with <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">outsiders. Many would just as soon kill anybody who is not a member of their race. A lot of<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Sectoids are sexless &#8216;drones&#8217;. Not very many grow functioning wings. Not many of those <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> with wings can actually fly. Arch-Ghardra seek out and enslave most of those that can fly.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Trollish:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">24. Rock Trolls:\u00a0 get their name from their thick, hard skin. Rock Trolls, while they are among<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">the most intelligent of Trolls, are probably &#8216;barely sentient&#8217;. They are huge, incredibly strong,<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">slow, and extremely destructive. They can claw their way through solid rock. (If somebody<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">they&#8217;re afraid of is right there to supervise them.\u00a0 They do not have a long attention span.)<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">&amp; while they are an impressive sight wading among the normal sized members of any army,<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">they are barely manageable and absolutely hate taking orders. They are also blind in daylight.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Many of them, if trapped too far from a cave or other source of darkness, will dig themselves<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> a hole and bury their heads&#8230; actually look like a boulder, until they move. (They can smell<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">most creatures and are dangerous, even when they can&#8217;t see who or what they&#8217;re attacking.)<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Rumoured Races:<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">25. &#8220;Watchers&#8221;:\u00a0 are semi-corporeal beings. They are translucent and can remain essentially<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> invisible. Those who can see them describe them as &#8216;walking tree trunks of flowing water&#8217;.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> Those who they have &#8216;graced&#8217; with conversation report that many members of their race have<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> either been banished from their own dimension or came here to track down their enemies<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> (of their own un-named race) and kill them. Most have some measure of Psidahrian talent and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> training. (&#8216;Evil&#8217; types seek out &#8216;Evil Watchers&#8217; to bargain for Psidahrian training. Most<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> regret this action. &#8216;Evil Watchers&#8217; drain fully corporeal beings of their energy in order to<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">survive. &#8216;Good&#8217; Watchers draw their energy from disciplined practices similar to Tai Chi and<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> pranayama.) Watchers are often able to charm or enslave &#8216;servants&#8217; to guard and carry around<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">any physical property they might have. (They can communicate with their world through<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">crystals.)<\/span><\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>26. <strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Meta Morphs:\u00a0 are believed to be the descendants of the &#8216;First Race&#8217;. (The Spiritual beings<\/span><\/strong> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> who first formed bodies for themselves and later used Spiritual Power to form bodies for<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> &#8216;younger&#8217; spirits who couldn&#8217;t form their own. Still later the First Race discovered that they,<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> like the animals they observed, could mate physically and reproduce that way- brought in<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> less and less highly evolved spirits until the First Wars of Magic broke out. After the Last<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Wars of Magic ended in a stale-mate, most surviving members of the First Race either<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">dissolved their bodies, committed suicide or went into deep hiding.) Meta Morphs are always<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">born unaware of their abilities. Meta Morph Elders watch young Meta Morphs and decide<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">whether to unlock their knowledge of their heritage or kill them as a danger to their race.<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Meta Morph Elders are extremely cautious when it comes to the balance of power between<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\"> them and will (often) gladly sacrifice someone they believe will side with their rivals. Young<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">Meta Morphs who are told of their pedigree are taught to &#8216;shift&#8217; into one alternate sentient<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">form. As their abilities grow, and if they are careful not to let any non-Meta Morphs know<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">of their talents (or that Meta Morphs actually exist), they will be taught to morph into a<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">third sentient form. In time they may learn to take on the form of &#8216;Mythical&#8217; beings. <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">From time to time it has been great sport (out of fear) for members of other races to search<\/span><\/b> <b><span style=\"color: #00007d;\">out and destroy anyone they suspect of being a Meta Morph. [ 90 &#8211; 135 cm ]<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000066; font-family: New Century Schlbk, Times; font-size: medium;\">Sprites are usually between 6 inches and 2.5 feet tall. [ 15 &#8211; 75 cm ]<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000066; font-family: New Century Schlbk, Times; font-size: medium;\">Tiger Spiders are between 2 and 4 [ 60 &#8211; 120 cm ] feet tall but can be 6-8 feet in diameter [ 180 -240 cm ].<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000066; font-family: New Century Schlbk, Times; font-size: medium;\">Sectoids are usually about 5 to 6 feet tall [ 150 &#8211; 180 cm ], but some &#8216;slither&#8217; around at about a foot tall [ 30 cm ] and some are as tall as 7 to 8 feet [ 200 &#8211; 240 cm ].<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000066; font-family: New Century Schlbk, Times; font-size: medium;\">Metamorphs either conform to the normal heights and girths of the races they masquerade as, or they are in big trouble. Those high level metamorphs who can adopt &#8216;Mythical&#8217; forms can generally take care of themselves whether they&#8217;re trying to pass for Angels, Unicorns, Giants, or Dragons. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000066; font-family: New Century Schlbk, Times; font-size: medium;\">Faer Elves are not Metamorphs (for role playing purposes, I mean). They can shift between their Elven form and that of a domestic cat. They also have a halfway form known as a Faer Cat, which is generally about 5 feet tall [ 150 cm ] and looks like Felix the Cat with psychedelic colour schemes. [ Khatzen are not amused ]<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000066; font-family: New Century Schlbk, Times; font-size: medium;\">Dhalggers are not Metamorphs (for role playing purposes). Their &#8216;normal&#8217; form is more or less Elvish (or &#8216;humanoid&#8217; ) with a very dog like head, but they usually resemble Half Elves (especially when rumours of Werewolves are flying around). They can also &#8216;disguise&#8217; themselves as most domesticated species of dogs. <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000066; font-family: New Century Schlbk, Times; font-size: medium;\">Metamorphs who begin life as a Dhalgger or Faer Elf do not progress any faster than any other Metamorph. [ Metamorphs &#8216;don&#8217;t know they&#8217;re metamorphs&#8217; until a Metamorph Elder &#8216;awakens&#8217; their abilities.
